Fourteen years after the initial renovation of the basement of La Pedrera de Caixa Catalunya, in 2007 the Social Work of Caixa Catalunya embarked on a new process of remodelling the building's former garages, which was completed at the end of 2008, with the aim of upgrading and improving the space to adapt it to new technologies and the growing demand for a whole range of different activities to be held there.

This major renovation project, undertaken by the prestigious architectural practice MBM (Martorell, Bohigues i Mackay), has given the Caixa Catalunya Auditorium some brand new technological facilities while at the same time recovering Gaudí's original architectural spirit.

Points worth mentioning include the visibility of the stage, full access to every area for people with reduced mobility, the creation of new multipurpose installations and facilities and the reinforcement of the building's structure.
