Work Methodology

General Aims:

The centre has a comprehensive range of teaching methods to educate on the principles of sustainable development. The activities have been designed to encourage participants to identify, respect and care for the various features that make up the landscape.

The teaching team:

This team consists of teachers of environmental subjects who have expertise in different areas. Partnerships with local people provide a more vivid experience of life in the area.

  Methodology:

The activities, devised on the principals of active-participation-based teaching, deal with a wide variety of issues and are tailored to the different levels of education and to the characteristics and special requirements of each group. A teaching guide and supplementary support material is also available.

The methodology resources guide students so that they can build up their own knowledge via highly functional and meaningful experiences based on the learning process outlined below:

  • Expression of prior knowledge through talking about day-to-day environments.
  •  Understanding the reality through fun, emotive, multi-sensorial and surprising experiences which stick in the mind.
  • Thinking and assimilation using a range of observation and expression techniques.
  • Training for action by experiencing new sustainable management models and adopting new attitudes that can be applied in daily life.
