The star cluster known as M17 is located 5,500 light years away from us towards the Sagittarius constellation. Stellar winds and radiation from hot stars are the reasons it has such a peculiar and wavy shape.

Crescent Nebula
NGC6888 – The Crescent Nebula
NGC 6888 is a cosmic bubble 25 light years in diameter that is expanding due to winds from its massive central star. This star is burning fuel at a high speed and is at the end of its lifespan, which will end with a spectacular supernova.

Veil Nebula
NGC6992 – The Veil Nebula
The enormous Veil Nebula is larger than what is depicted in this photograph. It is the remains of a supernova that exploded 10,000 years ago towards the Swan Constellation. The expansive wave has swept gas away from the surrounding area, making the nebula.
